I was late to the K-Drama game and didn’t start watching until 2020. During lockdown, I watched a lot of dramas and have since then finished quite a few shows, some I attempted to watch but couldn’t get into. What I love about K-dramas is that it forces me off my phone because I need to read the subtitles. I love the storylines, the fashion, the emotions. I laugh, I cry, and so I tried to list as many as I could remember. Haha.

These are dramas I could watch over and over again. My first drama was “Crash Landing On You” so it holds a very special place on my list and in my heart, LOL. I can’t write a long review on all of them or say too much to spoil the plot, but these are the shows that I remember off the top of my head being ones where I was like, “that was a good one.”

MY TOP 5

• Queen of Tears (Netflix): This drama knocked CLOY off the top spot because I love the leads, the drama, the chemistry between them is SO GOOD. Kim Soo-Hyun is an incredible actor but also my crush. I also loved the K-drama Multiverse moment here and all the easter eggs from shows like Vincenzo and Crash Landing. A must watch.

• Crash Landing On You (Netflix): A little bit of everything, I laughed, I cried, and have watched this drama at least a dozen times. It was my very first K-drama so it holds a very special place in my heart. 🫰🏼

• Twinkling Watermelon (Viki): Loved this coming of age story about second chances. I cried most episodes because it was such an emotional ride.

• Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo (Viki): The two leads are my favorite and loved their chemistry in this one. Cute lighthearted drama that doesn’t have too heavy of a drama in the plot.

• Our Beloved Summer (Netflix): I really enjoyed this drama, a bit slower paced, but I was emotionally attached to the relationship of the leads and also loved the soundrack.

• True Beauty (Viki / Netflix): Based off a webtoon, I loved this drama so much. Again, watched it a couple of times. Rom Com.

• Marry My Husband (Prime): Currently an on-going drama but I’ve already re-watched each episode at least 2x. Revenge Plot + Rom Com.

• Reborn Rich (Viki): Action and Suspense, Marco and I loved this one. Revenge Plot.

• Penthouse 1-3 (Viki / Netflix): The most stressful and over the top drama I have ever watched. Marco and I were stressed out week after week, but it was good.

• Start-Up (Netflix): Loved this drama, had a little bit of everything and great cast dynamic.

• Extraordinary Attorney Woo (Netflix): Incredible drama about an attorney with Asperger’s and how she overcomes everyday interactions. Amazing actress.

• Record of Youth (Netflix): One of the earlier dramas that I watched and just thought PBG was so cute. The chemistry isn’t there but I like a success story plot.

• Itaewon Class (Netflix): Another early drama that I loved. A little bit of everything.

• Castaway Diva (Netflix): Such a great drama with Park Eun Bin, highly recommend this one!

• Business Proposal (Netflix): Romcom

• Hometown Cha Cha Cha (Netflix): Loved how wholesome this one was.

• Welcome to Samdal-Ri (Netflix): Another wholesome drama, but the revenge I needed on one character took forever lol.

• What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim (Viki / Hulu): Rom Com

• Squid Game (Netflix): Great suspense / plot twist drama.

• Celebrity (Netflix): Drama about the world of social media, I enjoyed this one lol.

• It’s Okay to Not Be Okay (Netflix): Great storyline that discusses mental health and also impeccable fashion by Seo Yea-Ji.

• 20th Century Girl (Netflix): Rom Com, loved this movie. Great quick watch.

• Strong Woman Do Bong Soon (Viki): Rom Com

• Fight For My Way (Netflix): Rom Com.

• Little Women (Netflix): Drama, great female leads.

• Doona (Netflix): This was kinda confusing.
