CHANEL JULY PRICE INCREASE
Another price increase is going to hit on July 1. Two of the classic flaps in the photo were purchased pre-loved and the Black Caviar Classic Flap was purchased last May a few price increases ago. I’m not entirely sure what the price jumps will be, but a few sources are saying about $1000 for classic flaps. I’ve been sent a list of price jumps and unfortunately, they will probably continue to go up. It has also been rumored that Chanel is attempting to follow an Hermès-like model where only existing clients can be offered certain bags and also limiting the quantities of how much one can purchase as well.

Please note that various materials for certain bags will also affect the pricing. Not sure yet if SLGs are included but seasonal bag styles should be exempt from the increase as well. I haven’t heard anything about Gabrielle bags increasing, but if not this price increase, it might for the next one. I believe the Reissues are going up too.
I knew that when I purchased my medium classic flap last May, that it would be my last classic flap from the boutique. The pre-loved market still has great inventory of classics but they’re also increasing in prices as well. For perspective, I purchased my Camel Classic flap in January of 2018 for $2000 and my vintage Chanel Diana for $1795 before taxes. I definitely think you can still find great vintage and pre-loved bags out there, perhaps not at the prices they were at a few years ago, but it just may take a bit more time.
